to enter our exclusive contest honouring Earth Day, Fairy-tales from the Forest: Retell the Classics, which begins on April 22, 2014.
Between April 22, 2014 and May 31, 2014, each week, writers are invited to retell any of four classic children’s stories that take place in the woods on the website Tell it my Way. Storytellers may submit their own versions of “Little Red Riding Hood” on April 22nd, “Robin Hood” on April 29, “Hansel and Gretel” on May 6th, or “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” on May 13th.
The contest ends May 31st. Readers determine scores by voting “up” or “down.” The authors of the retelling of the fairy-tale with the highest score will receive a $50.00 Amazon gift card and will also receive recognition on Tell it my Way!
The winners will be notified by email and must reply to the email within a week to assure us that the email address is legitimate, and then they will be emailed $50 Amazon gift cards.
The same rules that apply to normal usage of Tell it my Way apply to the contest:
Don’t plagiarize. Only post original children’s stories or retellings of stories on Tell it my Way. More info
Don’t try to manipulate votes or rankings.
Don’t post anyone’s personal information.
Don’t use this site for bullying or harassing anyone.
Do not write anything that is sexually suggestive. Keep it clean.
If you violate one of these rules, your story may be permanently deleted, and any retellings of your story will also be deleted. So be nice!
Furthermore, entries cannot be removed from the website by their writers once they have been published on Tell it my Way.
In addition, employees of Tell it my Way may not enter the contests. They are welcome to publish original stories and retell stories, but if an employee’s story or retelling receives the highest score, the prize will go to the non-employee with the highest score.
