NASO Meeting Ottawa

Phil Nagy, President, and Jack Howard, External Communications of SC-CC, recently attended the Canada Council-NASO meeting in Ottawa. NASO, National Arts Support Organizations, is an assembly of organizations that promote the arts throughout Canada.

The Canada Council for the Arts convenes this special NASO meeting once a year in Ottawa. Its purpose is to inform the various NASO participants of the latest thinking of the Canada Council and to encourage the various arts groups to collaborate more on common interest or needs.

This meeting was very encouraging. Both Phil and Jack came away with many thoughts about just how we (along with other arts organization) will move into the future. It is a rapidly changing culture sphere with many new ideas–a lot to digest. More later…
